We now invite abstract proposals for the Summer Institute in Zadar, Croatia
Proposals will be considered for inclusion in the programme if they are received for review by 22th February 2019. Early submission is encouraged!
Presentation type
We invite proposals for short oral plus poster presentations, and for symposia. Two presentations as first author is the usual limit for every contributor.
The oral plus poster presentations will be organized as follows to allow for more time for in-depth discussions: There will be several sessions of very short (typically 3 minutes) oral presentations followed by a marketplace with posters corresponding to those oral presentations allowing for in-depth discussions. Posters will be discussed in the respective sessions. Posters can be in portrait or landscape but please note our poster boards have dimensions of 1170mm high x 870mm wide. This means that we can accommodate maximum poster size of A0 in portrait orientation or A1 in landscape orientation. Poster boards will be in place throughout the conference and you are encouraged to leave the posters in place for the whole duration.
Symposia will be scheduled at suitable times in the programme. Symposia provide the opportunity for a focused session on a key area of research interest in human ethology. Format for symposia is flexible and proposals to be considered by the Program Committee should give details of the proposed topic and format, including Chairperson, proposed speakers (who should have confirmed they are willing to participate), and a proposed schedule (e.g. time allocated to individual talks, whether there will be discussions, panel sessions etc). As an example, your symposium might have one chair with a 10 min introduction, then four speakers who each have a 20 min slot, and an additional 20 mins scheduled for a panel discussion. Symposia should normally last between one and two hours. Note that for symposia proposals, the proposed Chairperson should submit a proposal for the symposium (i.e. an overview of the entire symposium). Individual speakers who will take part in the symposium should also submit their own abstracts individually).

You may also (optionally) upload a pdf containing the above information. This might be especially helpful if your name includes special characters.
After abstract submission
Abstracts will be reviewed by the Program Committee and the presenting author will be contacted as soon as a decision is made. The Program Committee reserve the right not to include submitted abstracts in the congress program, should they not promise sufficient scientific quality of the contribution.
Student First Authors
First author (i.e. presenting) students whose contribution has been accepted as oral and poster paper or as talk in a symposium will be exempted from the registration fee and will be allocated to free (shared) student accommodation and banquet ticket. If you are a student, you will be required to upload a copy of your student ID.
