Social programme
On Tuesday, you can go to the beer garden or join the wine tasting. Those two activities will be held at the same time.
Enjoy the evening at the state court cellar while testing and drinking a variety of different wines. The winetasting is precisely what it sounds like – you get to test and drink different wines and enjoy the evening at the state court cellar.
The cellar vault covers 4,557 m² and is located in the midst of the Würzburg Residence and used to be the Prince-Bishop’s court cellar.
A beer garden is a type of restaurant in Germany. Located on the river, nearby Würzburg’s city center is the beautiful, typical Bavarian beer garden “Alter Kranen”. Overlooking the Main River and some of the city’s most famous sights, you will enjoy delicious, regional food and drinks.
Boat trip
The boat will take you to the Veitshöchheim Palace.
Constructed in 1680 and served first as a summer residence for Grand Duke Ferdinand of Toskana and later for the Bavarian royal family. Nowadays, it is used as a museum. The beautiful palace is known for its Stucco work and its magnificent wallpapers made of paper.
Parts of the palace were constructed by the same master builder who built the UNESCO World Heritage Würzburg Residence.
The courtyard garden is considered one of the most beautiful Rococo gardens in Europe and features a total of 300 sculptures of Greek gods and goddesses, animals, humans, and mythical creatures. One of the many highlights is the large lake, in the middle of which sculptures by Ferdinand Tietz are enthroned.
While enjoying a warm summer night, you will be roaming around the city with a night guard in a historical costume who will show you Würzburg’s beautiful sights and tell you stories and anecdotes about Würzburg’s history.
The conference dinner will take place at the Nikolaushof in Würzburg. This dinner will not only come along with a beautiful view but also a DJ and an after-party to celebrate the conference and commemorate the past days. Moreover, the dinner will include a buffet with Franconian specialties.
