ISHE member Carole Tafforin has been elected to the International Astronautical Academy.
Carole is the Scientific Director of ETHOSPACE in Toulouse, France. She opened the innovative field of Space Ethology research 25 years ago. She has applied this Science of Behavior in a large panel of real flights, simulations and analogue situations. In Life Sciences, it is actually a linkage between medicine & physiology on one side and psychology & psychiatry on the other side, and sociology & anthropology on a new way. Her principal investigations were conducted in Europe, in the Arctic and Antarctic, recently in Russia and soon in China. Author of 90 publications, with new expertise and reviewing activities, she contributes greatly to the knowledge of human adaptation as a whole.
